Commander Paterno Belarmino Jr., head of the PCG in northern Negros Occidental, said there was a reported congestion of passengers in some seaports during the Holy Week but they were able to address the matter.
The PCG inspected a total of 511 vessels and 203 motor bancas.
Belarmino said they recorded a minor incident when a passenger from Dumangas, Iloilo province, suffered dizziness while on board a vessel to this city.
They provided assistance to the passenger with the help of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), he added.
He said they will continue to conduct coastal inspections and monitoring of beach resorts for the “summer” vacation to prevent untoward incidents.
