Man stabbed dead in wake

LAL-LO, Cagayan – A man was stabbed to death in a wake in Barangay Bagumbayan here on Easter Sunday.

Police Major Jefferson Mukay, town chief of police, identified the victim as Ramil Pacion, a resident of Barangay Bagumbayan.

Investigation said that suspect, Jaylord Ordillo, 23, a welder from Barangay Maxingal here, was attending a wake when he and the victim had a heated altercation. 

Ordillo got a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. 

Two men, James Cabanban, 26, and his brother, Raymart, 29, residents of Barangay Bagumbayan, tried to pacify the suspect but they too were stabbed.

Police arrested the suspect and the victims were taken to the hospital where Pacion was declared dead.

The victims’ families are determined to file a case against the suspect, police said.
