Rosegie Ramos became the first Filipino weightlifter to book a 2024 Olympics spot and the seventh athlete so far to join the Paris mission after ruling her division in the IWF World Cup in Phuket, Thailand on Monday, April 1.

The 20-year-old Ramos topped the women's 49-kilogram Group B class as she lifted 87kgs in snatch and 103kgs in clean and jerk for a total of 190kgs.

With her victory, the Pinay lifter is in a good position to stay in the Top 10 of the world rankings in her weight division which will automatically give her the Paris spot.

Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo, Elreen Ando, Vanessa Sarno, John Ceniza and Kristel Macrohon are all set to compete in their respective events with high hopes of joining Ramos in the Summer Games.

The proud daughter of Zamboanga City will be joining boxers Eumir Marcial, Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas, pole vault star EJ Obiena and gymnasts Carlos Yulo and Aleah Finnegan in Paris.
