Korean political drama 'Uncle Samsik' to premiere on Disney+ in May
The Korean political drama “Uncle Samsik” starring actors Song Kang-ho and Byun Yo-han will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on May 15.
During a period of upheaval and unrest in Korea, one man will operate in the shadows, manipulating the system and its key players for the advancement of the country.

This is the story of “Uncle Samsik,” set in the 1960s, about Kim San, an ambitious idealist who is driven to turn his country’s fortunes around.
He is a recipient of the Albright Scholarship and wants nothing more than to transform his country into an industrial nation and deliver an American-level of affluence to the people of Korea.
Determined to succeed, Kim San attracts the attention of Pak Doochill (Uncle Samsik) a shady fixer who adapts to any situation and takes whatever steps necessary to help him accomplish his goals. Together, the pair will form an uneasy alliance, navigating the complexities of the established system, united by their shared goal of a prosperous future.
“Uncle Samsik” stars Song Kang-ho of “Parasite” and “Snowpiercer” as Pak Doochill/Uncle Samsik, a fixer and social chameleon who adapts to any situation and works tirelessly to ensure his team enjoys three meals a day, and Byun Yo-han of “Mr. Sunshine” and “Six Flying Dragons” as Kim San, a driven idealist looking to bring American affluence to the people of Korea
The drama is written and directed by Shin Yeonshick of “Cassiopeia” and “Romans 8:37.”
“Uncle Samsik” will premiere on Disney+ on May 15 with five episodes, followed by two episodes per week until the three-part season finale on June 19.
