Girl drowns on river in Isabela

ECHAGUE, Isabela – An eight-year-old girl drowned on a river in Barangay Salvacion here on Monday, April 1.

Police Major Rogelio Natividad, Echague police chief, said the victim was taken away by the strong river current while she was taking a bath and her older sister was checking her cell phone on the river bank.

She immediately sought assistance and authorities retrieved the victim’s body about an hour after the accident.

The victim was taken to the hospital where she was declared dead.
