Sexagenarian killed in motorcycle-tricycle crash


CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – A 62-year-old tricycle driver was killed and four individuals were injured  in a collision between a motorcycle and a tricycle in Barangay Padilla, San Carlos City, Pangasinan on Thursday evening, April 18.

Police identified the victim as tricycle driver Juan B. Bandong from Barangay Cruz, San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

The injured were identified as Merly Bandong, 62; Rowena Bandong, 31; and Kimberly B. Olimba, 21; all tricycle passengers; and security guard Rodolfo G. Hidalgo, 34, motorcycle driver.

Investigation said Bandong’s tricycle reportedly overtook another tricycle and encroached on the lane of Hidalgo’s motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

Police rushed them to a hospital where Juan was declared dead.
