ILOILO CITY – Police Col. Ronaldo Palomo was officially made to step down as director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) after only a year in his post.
Palomo was temporarily replaced by Police Col. Bayani Razalan, chief of the PRO-6 Regional Intelligence Division, in a concurrent capacity on Friday, April 19.

Before Palomo was replaced, PRO-6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky sought clearance from Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.
“The status of Col. Razalan’s designation to IPPO is officer-in-charge, pending submission of PRO-6’s recommendation of three police colonels to Gov. Defensor,” said Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO-6 information chief.
Wanky warned last March that Palomo might be replaced as IPPO units were allegedly non-performing in the campaign against illegal gambling. But there were other alleged irregularities that allegedly prompted the replacement of Palomo.
Palomo thanked police at the provincial headquarters and the 42 towns and component city of Passi for their cooperation during his tenure.
