No heat relief in sight for most of the Philippines next week
Prepare for a week of extreme heat, as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts continuous scorching temperatures throughout the country.
Based on the PAGASA’s weekly weather outlook, the entire archipelago will have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with warm and humid conditions, along with isolated afternoon thunderstorms due to the prevalence of the ridge of high pressure area (HPA) and easterlies on Saturday, April 20.
From Sunday to Monday, April 21 to 22, however, PAGASA said the eastern section of Mindanao may see mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough or extension of a potential low pressure area outside the country’s area of responsibility.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will continue to experience warm and humid weather, except for isolated afternoon rain showers or thunderstorms.
From Tuesday to Friday, April 23 to 26, PAGASA said the ridge of HPA and easterlies will once again be the dominant weather system in the country, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy weather and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms across the archipelago.
Based on PAGASA’s extended weather outlook from April 20 to 23, air temperatures range from 24 to 35°C in Metro Manila, 25 to 38°C in Tuguegarao City, 25 to 32°C in Legazpi City, 17 to 27°C in Baguio City, 26 to 34°C in Puerto Princesa City, 27 to 32°C in Metro Cebu, 26 to 33°C in Iloilo City, 26 to 32°C in Tacloban City, 25 to 34°C in Metro Davao, 24 to 34°C in Zamboanga City, and 24 to 32°C in Cagayan de Oro City.
