The Department of Health (DOH), in collaboration with its Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), has successfully vaccinated 72 percent of its target population against measles as of April 17.

In a statement on Thursday, April 18, this coverage, equivalent to 981,805 children aged six months to below ten years old, is a significant milestone in the region's public health efforts.
DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa commended the dedication, stating, “Commitment and unity have been instrumental in achieving this remarkable vaccination coverage, which undoubtedly contributes to safeguarding the health and well-being of our people, especially the young ones.”
Meanwhile, with a total target eligible population of 1,371,284, the top three BARMM provinces with the highest vaccine coverage include Maguindanao del Norte, reaching 91.2 percent with 233,310 vaccinated; Sulu, achieving 89.5 percent with 229,960 vaccinated; and Maguindanao del Sur, registering 81.8 percent coverage with 190,217 vaccinated.
