Laborer caught with P1.9-M marijuana in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police seized suspected marijuana bricks worth P1.9 million from a 24-year-old construction worker from Marilao, Bulacan, in a checkpoint in Sitio Dinakan, Barangay Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga, on April 18.

The Kalinga Provincial Police Office said the suspect, who was on his way to Tabuk City, was flagged down by the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company and Lubuagan Municipal Police Station.

They inspected his bag and found 16 marijuana bricks weighing a total of 16 kilos valued at P1.9 million.

The suspect and confiscated evidence were taken to the Lubuagan MPS for documentation and proper disposition.

The suspect, who was apprehended based on information from a concerned citizen, faces drug-related charges.
