As April brings the heat, consider escaping to these new foodie spots for some cool relief this weekend. While lounging, indulge in the delicious fare they offer.

We have some delicious new lamb dishes at Souv by Cyma, delectable Spanish fare by Chef Chele at The Westin Hotel, and an out-of-this-world experience at the new restaurant concept Kas and Poly. Thai Chef Pun from Waldorf Astoria Bangkok takes over the kitchen of Conrad Manila's Brasserie on 3 as well.

Zus and Oatside offer refreshing drinks to ward off the summer heat, and newly opened café Paris Baguette, well-known in South Korea, is the perfect addition to your weekend plans. Read on.

Paris Baguette, Korea’s famous bakery, often featured in K-dramas and K-pop culture, opened its first store in the Philippines at SM Mall of Asia on April 18, 2024. The beloved bakery-café is known for its French pastries such as croissants, baguettes, cheese tarts, and their most popular item, Silky Roll Cake, which won a Guinness award. They also serve savory snacks and coffee.

The brand has over 3,750 outlets globally, offering authentic French baking from the United States to Singapore. Berjaya Food Berhad CEO Dato' Sydney Quays announced plans for a new Paris Baguette store in Manila, marking the second of many upcoming openings.

Pastries go well with a cup of coffee. Just in time, Malaysian Coffee shop Zus Coffee opened its newest store in SM Makati. Some of their best selling coffee drinks to try are their own version of Spanish Latte, Gula Melaka, and Velvet Coffee. To beat the scorching heat of the sun, these coffee flavors are all available on ice.

To level up the experience, the brand also formally launched its mobile app, which allows customers to customize their orders from taste to temperature and order time so they can simply pick up their coffee at the time most convenient for them.

Since its launch in 2023, Outside Milk has become a beloved oat milk brand in the Philippines. This weekend, April 20-21, 2024, don't miss the Oatside Pocket Festival at Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig City, featuring fun activities like Stack the Oats, DIY Tote Bag Making, and more.

The brand will unveil its newest offerings in this event—the Oatside Pocket Pack series. It means that finally, Oatside’s different flavors Original, Chocolate, and the newest one–Coffee, are now available in 200 ml packs, something that its customer can carry and drink on the go.

This weekend, Souv! by Cyma unveils four new lamb dishes curated by Chef Robby Goco, recently appointed as the "Lambassador" to the Philippines by the Victorian Government and Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA).

Indulge in offerings like 8-hour Roast Lamb, Paidakia Lamb Ribs Verjus, Low and Slow Lamb Stew, and Fresh Parsley with Sumac Onions Country-style Fried Lamb, available at all Souv! and Cyma restaurants.

The Westin Manila in Mandaluyong City, along with their Creative and Culinary Director Chef Chele Gonzalez, recently opened new Spanish dining concept, Cantabria.

Located on the hotel’s roofdeck, “Cantabria by Chele Gonzalez” specializes in seafood, creative tapas, comfort meats, and traditional Spanish dishes, inspired by Chef Chele’s childhood summers and culinary roots in Cantabria, Spain.

Weekenders can enjoy watching the fresh catch of the day prepared at the central seafood display. Signature dishes include black ink creamy rice with grilled scallops and baby squid, grilled whole wild turbot, and grilled Iberico pork steak. For dessert, guests savored Sobao Pasiego cake with cheese ice cream and berries coulis, along with caramel mousse and chocolate sponge.

Conrad Manila is launching its annual Legendary Chef Series with guest chef Akkawin “Pun” Pitrachart from Waldorf Astoria Bangkok. Chef Pun, renowned for his authentic Thai cuisine, will be leading the hotel’s Brasserie on 3 restaurant until April 30, 2024.

During the kitchen takeover, Chef Pun will showcase his signature dishes: braised chicken in coconut broth with Thai herbs and stir-fried minced pork with bird’s eye chili and hot basil. Guests can also enjoy Thai-style roasted beef and northern Thai sausages.

A must-try this weekend is their authentic Khaosoi soup, also known as Northern Yellow Curry soup, a specialty of Chiang Mai City in Thailand.

Kas and Poly's Aquarius Chelo Kebab

Last but not least, there’s the new restaurant Kas and Poly, which opens today, April 19, 2024, welcoming astrology and food lovers through a press preview. The grand opening will be on April 19, 2024. The restaurant has a Greek-Astrology themed interior, being named after Castor and Pollux - twin brothers from Greek and Roman mythology.

Try their Taurus Oxtail dish, with its wine-roasted pork belly, charred veggies, roasted potatoes and savory cranberry sauce; and also the Aquarius Chelo Kebab, beef kebab served with garlic labneh, roasted veggies, herb salad, choice of starch: lemon garlic basmati rice, sultana fried rice, pita bread.

The drinks are also good, and are infused with their astrology theme. Called “Cosmic Tea Infusions,” there’s Earth -house blend iced tea; Mercury, peppermint tea, blueberry, rosemary, butterfly pea flower;Pluto, jasmine tea, cucumber, mint; Neptune, butterfly pea flower, fresh lemon juice, and more.
