San Jose del Monte lone district Rep. Florida "Rida" Robes has empathized with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos regarding the latter's bad feelings toward Vice President Sara Duterte, as revealed in video clips circulating online.
In a statement Thursday afternoon, April 18, Robes says she agrees with Araneta-Marcos in that the latter has always shown kindness to Vice President Duterte.
"But the [Vice President] crossed the line when she attended a rally that not only maligned the President [Marcos] but also called for his ouster," Robes said, echoing the words of the First Lady, who was visibly upset in the viral video clip.
Araneta-Marcos was apparently referring to the pro-Apollo Quiboloy prayer rally held over a month ago in Manila. Even a casual observer would attest to the rally's anti-administration theme.
"They savaged her husband and to her credit, her reaction was not only delayed but also polite," the lady solon from Bulacan said.
"Now, compare her language to the venom spoiled by the Dutertes?" noted Robes.
"Is the First Lady’s statement factual? Yes. It is based on the truth. It is an honest reaction to insults uttered during a rally that happened," she underscored.
Vice President Duterte's father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, has become one of the incumbent Chief Executive's harshest critics these past few months.

Despite the elder Duterte's attacks, President Marcos has always defended Vice President Duterte, Araneta-Marcos noted.
"I have the most contact with Inday Sara and how we were with each other during the campaign, after the election, (our relationship) hasn't really changed," the President said, referring to the Vice President.
Sara was Marcos' running mate during the May 2022 elections. They ran under the UniTeam banner.
It was also during the March 12 prayer rally that former Biliran lone district Rep. Glenn Chong publicly threatened to slap the First Lady in the face.
As of this posting; only teaser clips of Araneta-Marcos' interview exist; the full interview has yet to be released.
