Fil-American gymnast Levi Jung-Ruivivar boosted her bid for a berth at the 2024 Paris Olympics after advancing to the uneven bars final in the FIG Apparatus World Cup Series in Doha, Qatar on Wednesday, April 17.

Ruivivar, who will turn 18 next month, placed eighth in the 26-player field after scoring 13.2 points behind top qualifiers Kaylia Nemour of Algeria (15.400), Alena Tsitavets (13.666) and New Zealand’s Georgia-Rose Brown (13.400).
Completing the finalists are Sweden’s Nathalie Westlund (13.400), Portugal’s Filipa Martins (13.366) Belgium’s Maeliyse Brassart (13.266), and Ukraine’s Anna Lashchevska (13.233).
A podium finish in this leg would strengthen Ruivivar’s chances as she is currently tied for fifth in the Olympic apparatus ranking with 44 points with Croatia’s Sara Sulekic. She has collected 14 points in the Cairo leg, 12 in Cottbus, Germany and 18 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Only the top 2 gymnasts in each apparatus after the four-leg World Cup series will earn berths to Paris.
Brown currently leads the uneven bars ranking with 50 points, followed by Williams (48), Czech Republic’s Vanessa Masova (48) and Westlund (47).
So far, only Carlos Yulo and Aleah Finnegan have already secured tickets for the PH gymnastics team to Paris.
Meanwhile, Yulo struggled in his floor exercise campaign here in Doha after stumbling at 21st place in the qualifications.
The two-time world champion managed only with 12.666 points after scoring 6.466 on execution from his 6.2 degree of difficulty routine.
