19 beauties vie for Bb. Santa Cruz finals on April 19

April ushers in the time of colorful festivals in the Philippines. The province of Laguna's capital,  Sta. Cruz is no exception. As the seat of government of one of the most prosperous provinces in the Luzon region, Sta. Cruz takes pride in continuing the long-held traditions of its ancestors. The ongoing Kesong Puti Festival, which lasts until April 20, is one way for the town to pay homage to its famous, iconic products and preserve its heritage.

Under the leadership of its well-loved mayor Edgar "Kuya Egay," San Luis, Sta. Cruz honors its outstanding residents by engaging them in contests promoting an active mind and body. This year, there's the competition for Pinakamagandang Lola, Pinakapoging Lolo, and Ginoong TODA.

The highlight of the celebration is the search for Binibining Santa Cruz 2024, which will culminate with the crowning of the winner this coming Friday, April 19, at the municipal grounds.

Nineteen young ladies from various barangays of the municipality are vying for the title and the opportunity to represent the youth of Santa Cruz. The grand winner, to be announced on the coronation night, will be bestowed with a crown, flowers, cash, and other valuable prizes, adding to the thrill and prestige of the event.

Mayor San Luis pointed out the pageant's role in showcasing Santa Cruz's rich history and culture. He also exhorted the candidates to do good and to always serve as an example and inspiration to their peers.

The mayor added that the contestants comprise the prettiest and fairest women of Santa Cruz. He spoke in the vernacular: " All of you are already winners in our eyes. Continue inspiring other people, and please know that the municipal government under my watch will always be here to support you."
