In a circular, Imus Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista said that after meeting with the Presbyterial Council of the diocese, it was agreed to intensify the faithful’s life of prayer and holiness particularly in this Year of Prayer and also in preparation for the Jubilee Year of the Catholic Church in 2025 and the Diocesan Synod in 2026.

“In a recent meeting with the Presbyteral Council of the Diocese of Imus, it has been agreed that in this Year of Prayer 2024, which is the first year of preparation for the upcoming Diocesan Synod in 2026, we are enjoined to intensify our life of prayer and holiness,” said Bishop Evangelista in his circular.

Aside from individual and group prayers, the Church leader encouraged the faithful to pray the Regina Caeli as well as the Angelus every day at 6 a.m., 12 noon and at 6 p.m.

Bishop Evangelista likewise encouraged the praying of the De Profundis at 8 p.m. every night for the souls in purgatory.

Pope Francis declared 2024 as the Year of Prayer in preparation for the celebration of the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year in 2025 with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”
