US-based BPO's new Laguna office to generate 3,000 jobs

United States-based business process outsourcing (BPO) firm Afni said it is aiming to employ 3,000 new Filipino employees by the end of 2024, following its expansion of operations in SM City Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

In a statement on April 16, Afni shared that it currently has 8,000 employees in the country, working in their offices located along Commonwealth Avenue and in Fairview, both in Quezon City.

With the new 9,400 square feet (sqft) Laguna site, the company will be able to cater to more Filipinos living outside of Metro Manila who are seeking professional work.

"By opening our new site in Santa Rosa, we are not only creating new job opportunities but also empowering local talents in and around Laguna to thrive closer to where they live,” said Afni Philippines Senior Vice President and Country Manager Khalid Khursheed.

According to the firm, Sta. Rosa is a "strategic location" to establish its operation due to its access to "rich talent pool, proximity to Metro Manila, convenience of nearby transportation hubs, and a relatively lower cost of living than Metro Manila."

Aside from the work station itself, the office features conference rooms, as well as "arcade or game rooms," meant as spaces for employees to unwind during breaks, along with "sleeping quarters" that allow workers to recharge.

“Afni's expansion into Santa Rosa demonstrates our commitment to supporting our clients and boosting the country’s economy by establishing our presence in major hubs outside of Metro Manila," said President and CEO Ron Greene .

Afni, which has been operating in the Philippines since 2012, offers BPO services to companies in the insurance, financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, fitness, and media industries.

Aside from the Philippines, it also has operations set up in Mexico.
