Around 200 former Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadets, both graduates and non-graduates, attended the first fellowship and organizational dinner meeting of the 4Cl Club Metro Manila (4CCMM) last Saturday, April 13, 2024.
Held at the historic Kalayaan Hall of Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan City, the occasion saw the meeting of long lost mistahs, upperclassmen, and underclassmen as discussions on the fate and future of the new organization were also made.
The 29th Chief of the Philippine National Police Benjamin Acorda Jr. (PMA ‘91) graced the affair and delivered an inspirational message to the PMAers present. Former Senator Gringo Honasan (PMA ‘71) and Medal for Valor Awardee Ariel Querubin (PMA ‘79) also attended.
Moreover, the organization's interim trustees and officers, headed by its Interim Trustee and Chairman, former PNP and LTO Chief, Roberto "Bobby" Lastimoso (PMA '67); Interim Trustee, President, and CEO, Bernie Miaque (PMA '87); Audie Mongao (PMA '92); Leo Bungubung Jr (PMA '98); Edmund Tan (PMA '80); Raul Villanueva (PMA '90); and Ace Esmeralda (PMA '89), were formally introduced to the group.
The said interim trustees and officers were later unanimously voted unopposed to the seven-member board of trustees of 4Cl Club Metro Manila. The election was conducted under the supervision of lawyer Neil Albopera.
The program proper started with the unveiling of the 4CL COLOUR alongside the PMA flag. Lastimoso delivered the welcome address, while Miaque introduced the group's rationale. Awards and recognitions, including categories such as most senior attendees, were presented during the program, with participants spanning from PMA Classes 1967 to 2022.
Awarded as most senior in the civilian or private sector present was Arthur “Tex” Balmaceda (PMA ‘71) while in active police or military service present was Dennis Pacis (PMA ‘91).
But that’s not all, there were lucky attendees who even went home winners in the raffle draws. The group was entertained by Cebu’s Angel Fire dance troupe, Cavaliers Band, Don Conejo’s Band, and comedian James Macasero aka “Moymoy Palaboy.”
