Manila disaster management office reminds drivers to stay hydrated amid hot weather
The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) reminded the public, especially the drivers traveling on the road, to stay hydrated to avoid accidents that can happen due to hot weather.

The advice was issued after a 64-year-old taxi driver lost consciousness while driving along United Nations Avenue in Manila on Tuesday afternoon, April 16.
The senior citizen's taxicab reportedly hit an electrical post and a tree after he lost consciousness.
Upon the arrival of Manila DRRMO personnel, the driver complained of body weakness, vomited blood, and experienced nose bleeding.
Manila DRRMO said the man's condition was possibly due to over fatigue that worsened because of the extremely hot weather.
The taxi driver received immediate aid and was brought to the nearest hospital for further medical assistance.

Meanwhile, as of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, Manila DRRMO recorded a 41-degree Celsius heat index factor in Manila.
It is said that this temperature can cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion on anyone exposed to the sun.
It reminded the public again to stay hydrated, and if they cannot avoid being exposed to the sun, at least take a rest every 30 minutes to allow their body temperature to cool down.
