Former President Duterte solidifies his frontrunner position in the 2025 Senate race survey — Tangere

Former President Rodrigo Duterte held onto the number one position for the third consecutive month in the Tangere’s 2025 senatorial election preferences survey conducted from April 10 to 13.

Based on the results released on Wednesday, April 17, 56.67 percent of Filipinos said they would vote for Duterte as senator if the elections were held during the survey period.

“The former president continued to leverage on the support of Mindanao but is faring lower among respondents in Northern Luzon,” Tangere said in its report.

It also noted that ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo continued to rank second in the poll, but the voters’ support dropped from 53 percent to 50 percent in just one month.

Senator Bong Go (47 percent) and former Senate President Tito Sotto (45.83 percent) came in third and fourth place, respectively.

Tangere said the biggest gainers for April were broadcaster Ben Tulfo, who came in at fifth place with a 42.08 percent voter preference, up 3 percent from his previous ranking of 9th, and Senator Lito Lapid, who rose from 12th to 8th place with a 38.33 percent voter preference after posting a 3 percent increase in his voter preference from the previous month.

Completing the top 12 were Senator Pia Cayetano (6th) with 41 percent voter preference, Senator Imee Marcos (7th) with 40.5 percent, former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (9th) with 37.7 percent, former Senator Manny Pacquiao (10th) with 37 percent, Senator Ronald Dela Rosa (11th) with 36.25 percent, and Senator Francis Tolentino with 35.41 percent.

Meanwhile, “nearly making the top 12” were former Senator Ping Lacson (34.58 percent), television personality Willie Revillame (33.33 percent), Senator Bong Revilla (32.91 percent), and social media personality Dr. Willie Ong (32 percent).

The 2025 Senate Survey was conducted using a mobile-based respondent application with a sample size of 2,400 participants and a margin of error of +/-1.96 percent at 95 percent confidence level.

The proportion was spread across the Philippines, with 12 percent from Metro Manila, 23 percent from Northern Luzon, 22 percent from Southern Luzon, 20 percent from Visayas, and 23 percent from Mindanao.
