Solved ang solo parents: Pasig City celebrates Solo Parents Week

The Pasig City local government on Monday, April 15, announced its line-up of activities in celebration of Solo Parents Week in recognition of the sacrifice and bravery of men and women in raising their children by themselves.
With the theme "Solo Parent na Rehistrado, sa Gobyerno Tiyak na Protektado!,” Pasig's City Social Welfare and Development Office led the opening ceremony for the celebration by encouraging solo parents in the city to participate in the department's activities in the coming days:

"Sa caravan na ito ay magkakaroon ng orientation patungkol sa RA 11861 o Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act at Pasig City Ordinance No. 78, s. 2023 o Pasig City Comprehensive Solo Parent Ordinance (In this caravan, an orientation program will be held to tackle RA 11861 or the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act, and Pasig City Ordinance No. 78, s. 2023 or the Pasig City Comprehensive Solo Parent Ordinance)," the local government unit (LGU) explained.
"Ang selebrasyon na gaya nito ay nagpapakita ng ating patuloy na pagmamalaki at paghanga sa katatagan ng solo parents upang masuportahan at maitaguyod ang kanilang mga anak (This celebration shows our steadfast support and admiration to the resiliency of all solo parents who are doing their best to raise their children)," it added.
Republic Act No. 11861 or the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act provides that the third week and third Saturday of April are declared as Solo Parents Week and National Solo Parents Day, respectively, to commemorate the role and significance of every solo parent in the country.
RA 11861, which amended RA 8972 or the Solo Parents’ Welfare Act of 2000, promotes the rights of Filipino solo parents and ensures that they can receive adequate social protection programs from the government.
