Skeletal remains found in Central Philippines State U

BACOLOD CITY – The skeletal remains of an unidentified person were found at the Central Philippines State University (CPSU) in Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, April 16.

Police Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape, Kabankalan police chief, said there was no cause for concern because according to residents of the barangay, the area was used as a cemetery for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) years ago.

Indiape said construction workers found the remains while they were digging for a septic tank next to the renovated gymnasium.

Indiape said the university plans to preserve the skeletons. The bones will be tested for identification.

The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) of the university, posted some photos on the discovery of the skeletal remains on Facebook.
