In the organization’s statement on Tuesday, April 16, PRC said the new building will enhance the organization's capacity to respond to emergencies and provide blood assistance to Filipinos residing in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The new building has three floors, a command center, and a ground floor specifically designated as a blood center.
Gordon, in his speech, pointed out that the organization is committed to being "not mere spectators," and its goal to transform the lives of many.
"This inauguration shows how we always seek ways to improve and exceed our own achievements,” he added.
During the event, the organization also welcomed its 5,000 new volunteers in an oath-taking ceremony.
"The volunteers will affirm to uphold PRC’s mission and values in all aspects of their services," the organization said.
In this context, Gordon reiterated the need for every home to have a "first aider" where everywhere is vulnerable to hazards.
"This capacitates families and communities to save themselves during emergencies, especially when disaster impedes the delivery of assistance in their communities," he added.
The PRC further noted that the said chapter is one of the PRC's oldest and pioneering branches.
