The Manila Police District (MPD) is hunting down the gunman who shot a 23-year-old man to death in Sta. Cruz, Manila last Sunday night, April 14.
MPD identified the victim as Aaron Gibb Mamucod, a resident of Tondo, Manila.
In closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from Barangay 322, the suspect and the victim were seen riding their respective motorcycles.
Upon reaching the corner of Felix Huertas and Bambang Streets in Sta. Cruz, the two stopped. The suspect hopped off his motorcycle, took a gun from his vehicle's compartment, and suddenly fired a shot into the air.
However, the victim did not move. The two had a conversation again during which the suspect repeatedly shot the victim.
In a media interview, barangay personnel said that the victim possibly knew the suspect.
They said the suspect shot the victim six times, which resulted in his immediate death.
The police are now conducting a backtracking operation to arrest the suspect who immediately fled after the incident.
