CEBU CITY—A vlogger from Alcoy, Cebu, was reprimanded by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) after he made a kite using money paper bills.
Ronnie Suan, or more popularly known as Boy Tapang on Facebook, admitted making a kite using P1 million worth of P1,000-bills as material.
Suan has 3.9 million FB followers.
In an April 13 post, Suan said BSP officials went to his house after his video showing him flying a kite made of P1,000 bills went viral.
Suan said he was reminded by BSP officials that money bills should not be toyed with.
“I want to say sorry to BSP for making a kite made of money. It was not my intention to toy with money because I came from being poor. I value money,” Suan said in Cebuano during one of his vlogs.
Suan said what he did was just for entertainment.
“Making a kite using plastic materials is already common so I thought of making a unique kite by using money bills. But now, I want to tell people not to toy with money. Let us value money because this is important in our loves,” Suan said.
Suan said he has already taken down the video showing him flying the kite made of money.
“It has already gained more than one million views. I had no problem taking it down. I can make another content anyway,” said Suan.(Calvin D. Cordova)
