The long line of chauffeured cars leading to NEX Tower last Feb. 29, 2024 left people wondering what caused the unusual traffic jam. Turns out guests were heading to Salcedo Auctions’ much-awaited vernissage for its first major event of the year, “The Well-Appointed Life” auction.

It also marked the start of a new program for the auction house with its daring introduction of international names to the local scene, namely esteemed Japanese artists Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara, Tsuguharu Fujita, Seiji Togo, Backside Works, and master of Chinese Buddhist painting Xia Jing Shan.

To thank everyone who supported its first major sale, Salcedo Auctions followed up with sunset cocktails at NEX Tower’s ultra exclusive roofdeck—decorated with flowers by The Love Garden—with drinks and tapas by La Picara, days after the successful auction last March 9.
