ILOILO CITY—After being included in the list of one the most affordable destinations in Southeast Asia, the “Visit Iloilo” tourism campaign has been launched.
The Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI), the Iloilo MICE Alliance, the Iloilo Provincial Government, the Iloilo City Government, the Department of Tourism (DOT-Region 6), the DOT’s Tourism Promotions Board, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI-Iloilo), and Megaworld Corp. kicked off the collaborative tourism campaign on Monday, April 15.
The campaign highlights Iloilo City, as well as Iloilo province, which consists of 42 towns and the component city of Passi.
“We want to invite everyone to make Iloilo Province and Iloilo City worth of the time, worthy of the visit, worthy of the conventions, worthy of the seminars,” said Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.
“This in an open invitation to visit Iloilo. This is about our heritage and our hospitality,” added IFFI President Allan Tan.
Megaworld Managing Director for Hotels Cleofe Albiso noted how the campaign manifests the strong public-private-partnership (PPP).
The Visit Iloilo campaign aligns with the “Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo” campaign of the provincial government as well as the UNESCO City of Gastronomy title.
Meanwhile, stakeholders pledged their commitment to promote Iloilo to outsiders.
