PLDT seeks share of lead vs Chery Tiggo

PLDT guns for a share of the lead with Choco Mucho when it faces Chery Tiggo at 6 p.m. while Petro Gazz and Cignal square off in the 4 p.m. opener.

Expect the match between the High Speed Hitters and the Crossovers to be pulsating with both teams riding the crest of their respective winning runs. PLDT boasts of five straight wins that put them at 7-1, just one game behind Choco Mucho (8-1), while Chery Tiggo enjoys a four-game winning streak that put them at joint fourth with Petro Gazz with a 6-2 mark.

Separating PLDT and Chery Tiggo in the standings is Creamline, which sports a 7-2 record for solo third.

Apart from talent, expect the PLDT-Chery Tiggo tussle to be a test of strategy and execution as both teams are slated to parade a strong frontline.

The High Speed Hitters expect hard-hitting Savi Davison, Majoy Baron, Erika Santos and Kim Fajardo to go full force against the Crossovers’ own arsenal in sisters Eya and EJ Laure, Mylene Paat and Ces Robles.

Petro Gazz and Cignal are also set to give their all to bolster their respective standings, particularly the HD Spikers, who currently trail at sixth with a 5-3 record.

Still reeling from its three-set loss to Chery Tiggo a few days back, Cignal seeks to regain the needed momentum heading to the pivotal stretch of the eliminations with Ces Molina, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Vanie Gandler leading their assault.

Petro Gazz, meanwhile, is leaning on its morale-boosting five-set win over Creamline two weeks ago with Brooke Van Sickle, Aiza Pontillas, Jonah Sabete and Remy Palma at the forefront of its attack.
