P36.5-M shabu, marijuana seized in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet â€“ The Police Regional Office-Cordillera seized suspected shabu and marijuana worth P36.5 million in buy-bust and eradication operations from April 8 to 14.

Nineteen suspected drug pushers were arrested.

The suspects yielded shabu with a combined weight of 23.96 grams and valued at P162,928.40.

Thirteen operations were conducted, with the Baguio City Police Office arresting eight drug pushers, Benguet Police Provincial Office four, Abra PPO and Kalinga PPO with three each, and Apayao PPO with one.

Eleven were streel-level individuals and eight were high-value individuals. The suspects face cases for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On the other hand, police discovered 181,622 fully grown marijuana plants and 480 marijuana seedlings valued at P36,343,400 in 32 eradication operations in Benguet, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.
