Live events group L-Squared Productions thrilled to hold first K-pop show in PH

Live events curator L-Squared Productions has ventured into Korean shows in the Philippines starting with K-pop artist and Mamamoo member Whee In’s first world tour last April 13

“Before dipping our toes into K-pop, L-Squared has and will always continue to be proud supporters of the local music industry,” CEO Dr. Marco Llado told Manila Bulletin

He said, “Our first live event was the V1BE Booze and Arts Festival in Cebu, an Oktoberfest-inspired outdoor music festival featuring household OPM names together with rising acts and artists from various regions in the country. Over 5,000 attendees got to vibe with a diverse mix of music icons — such as Rico Blanco, Urbandub, 6Cyclemind, Shanti Dope — and crowd favorites from Zild, Chocolate Factory, and Agaw Agimat.”

“Just a few months later, we produced the Last Rakrakan Festival - the biggest OPM festival in the country - in December. The 2-day legacy event hosted over 170 artists in more than 6 stages and was witnessed by 45,000 guests,” he added.

He said, “Aside from massive outdoor events, we have continuous partnerships with local bars and venues for live music shows and we make it a point to always give a platform for emerging artists.”

Organizing their first Korean show in the country, Whee In’s concert, was a different experience for the company

“Beyond excited. More than anything, we at L-Squared are thrilled to contribute to the thriving ‘K market’ in the Philippines. We have a lot of big Korean fan groups here with very active members and it fills us with joy to be part of this community. The superfans we have engaged with for Whee In really gave us a first hand perspective of how passionate this community- very dedicated, and will truly go out of their way to support their idols,” said Llado.

Following Whee In’s solo show, L-Squared Productions will have other shows including former NCT member Lucas’ Asian tour in June.

“While OPM is our first love, we still see opportunities to further ease ourselves into bringing in more international acts for Filipino fans,” he said.

Llado added, “For instance, we will be producing the Manila leg of former NCT member Lucas’ FIAT LUX Asian Tour this June. We are grateful to have been selected and trusted by SM Entertainment as the local producer for this fancon. This motivates us more to deliver not only quality acts for fans, but also the best possible experience for Filipinos.”

He describes L-Squared Productions as a “live events curator.”

“We make it a point to get really hands on with the events that we produce and promote in order to curate the best possible experience for our customers,” he said.

He added, “This thinking also allows us to think beyond the box in delivering more event-related services later on as we further grow the company. Ultimately, we see L-Squared to be an all-in-one live events company and hopefully be one of the top of mind service providers in the industry.”
