Pasay LGU prepares standby vehicles for 'libreng sakay', reminds implementation of 'e-bike, e-trike ban'

The Pasay City government announced that 16 vehicles will be on standby in front of City Hall to ferry stranded commuters on April 15 and 16 due to the planned nationwide transport strike.
According to Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano stationary vehicles, one big bus, five L300 van and ten big e-trikes will be at the open grounds of Pasay City Hall for deployment.
Rubiano said the team of Traffic Parking anf Management Office (TPMO) will assess the situation of the transport strike to be staged by groups of Manibela and Piston (Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide) in protest to the government’s phaseout of public utility jeeney’s (PUJs).
She said the standby vehicles will immediately be deployed for the “libreng sakay’ (free rides) to the assist stranded passengers.
The mayor also assured the commuting public of a normal and smooth transportation since most, if not all transport groups and jeepney operators signifies to uphold normal operations despite the strike.
Meanwhile, the city government also reminded the start of road restriction of tricycles, e-bikes, pedicabs, e-trikes along major thoroughfares starting Monday, April 15.
