A total of 330 individuals participated in the launching of the clean-up drive dubbed “Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan sa Bagong Pilipinas” on Saturday, April 13 in Area I, Libjo, Barangay Sto. Nino.
The clean-up drive was led by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for Barangay Affairs, Undersecretary Felicito Valmocina, and Parañaque City Administrator, Atty. Voltaire Dela Cruz.
The clean-up drive centered on four activities including clean-up of the the creekside and streets, urban gardening, and clearing operations.


Dela Cruz said around 213 sacks or 4,526 kilograms of waste were collected during the activity composed of plastics, bottles, and other dry and wet wastes.
He said the program aims to raise awareness and encourage participation from the public to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for the public.
The city administrator also said the program underscores the effort of the national government and local government units toward environmental stewardship, enhancing and improving public living conditions.
