ILOILO CITY – Police arrested an ex-convict in a buy-bust operation here on April 12.

Seized from the suspect, Damian Cataluña, was suspected shabu worth P3 million and a gun with bullets.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) caught Cataluña, 49, who had been in and out of prison for drug-related cases, after he sold shabu to a poseur-buyer worth P12,000 in La Paz District.
Cataluña yielded a total of 430 grams of shabu valued at P3 million.
The ICPO City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr. monitored the suspect after he was released from prison.
Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson, said their continuing anti-drug operations are sustaining the priority of city police chief Police Col. Joeresty Coronica to curb the illegal drugs trade.
The Police Regional Office-6 led by Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky lauded the achievement of the ICPO.
