ILIGAN CITY – Soldiers neutralized three members of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Maute Group in an encounter in Barangay Lindongan, Munai, Lanao del Norte on Saturday, April 13.

Troops under the 103rd Infantry Brigade of the 1st Infantry Tabak Division engaged seven members of the DI-MG led by Nasser Daud and Abu Jihad.
One soldier was wounded and guns, bullets, communications equipment, and personal belongings were recovered in the encounter site.
Brig. Gen. Yegor Rey P. Barroquillo Jr., commander of the 103rd Infantry Brigade, commended troops for their valor and successful neutralization of enemy forces.
“Our forces’ unwavering dedication to safeguarding our communities and maintaining peace and security in the region is demonstrated by our encounter with the DI-MG. The brigade will continue to work tirelessly to eliminate terrorist threats and maintain peace in our area of responsibility.”
Major Gen. Gabriel C. Viray III, commander of the 1st Infantry Division, congratulated troops for a successful operation.
Viray said this emphasizes their steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Lanao del Norte communities.
He said that their continuous efforts and initiatives for peace and development continue.
The military is pursuing fleeing bandits.
