The Northern Police District (NPD) announced the arrest of two individuals for illegal possession of firearms in two separate operations in Caloocan City, on Friday, April 12.
NPD said operatives of Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) were conducting patrol in Barangay 176, Bagong Silang at around 9:40 p.m. on Friday, April 12, when they saw a man urinating in public, which is a violation of an existing city ordinance.
The police officers asked for the man's identification card for the issuance of violation receipt. However, the suspect tried to escape by pushing the lawmen.
The officers eventually cornered the suspect and confiscated from him a .38-caliber revolver loaded with two live ammunition. Police withheld his name.
The same operatives arrested one alias “Batute,” 29, during the implementation of a search warrant at around 11 a.m. on Friday at Blk 181, Lot 10 Champaca St., Barangay 177, Caloocan City.
Confiscated from the suspect were a .38-caliber revolver and three live ammunition.
The two suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
