The Department of Labor and Employment's (DOLE) Regional Operations Cluster aims to improve the current strategies to meet the goals of the department's programs and services at the local level.
DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma and Undersecretary Benedicto Ernesto Bitonio discussed the need to possibly revise the targets in accordance with the 2024 General Appropriations Act for big-ticket projects in the first six months of the year during the second quarter meeting attended by all regional directors and bureau heads.
The guidelines and strategies for the rollout of the Adjustment Measures Program for Workers and Enterprises, along with the completion of its instructional manual, were also underscored.
Further discussions focused on the proposal to restructure internal human resources by simplifying DOLE personnel, the implementation of the Management Development Program to groom future leaders, and the updated PRAISE guidelines of DOLE.
Meanwhile, the talks also covered DOLE's artificial intelligence hackathon, progress updates on Labor Day celebration activities, and the forthcoming National Employment Summit.
