PRO 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas has directed all police provincial directors in Calabarzon to oversee the conduct of the transport strike within their areas of responsibility by formulating contingency plans in coordination with local governments and other law enforcement agencies.

Lucas said they have organized a Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) ready for immediate deployment.

Red-teaming will be assigned to inspect and visit all places of convergence and civil disturbance management units were activated to address any potential disruptions, he added.

Lucas encouraged people in the region to stay at home if there is no important matter to attend to.

Police and local government unit buses and trucks will provide “Libreng Sakay” or free transport for commuters during the strike.

Lucas advised the public to anticipate potential travel delays due to PNP checkpoints in coordination with the Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and Highway Patrol Group.

Additional police forces will be deployed on roads, terminals, and gathering areas to ensure smooth movement of goods and services and uphold safety and security for all road users and the public.

Lucas ordered personnel manning checkpoints and conducting police operations to exercise maximum tolerance and respect for human rights.
