8 PDLs hurt in Manila City Jail gang fight


Eight persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were reportedly hurt after a fight ensued between two opposing gangs inside the Manila City Jail on Saturday afternoon, April 13. 

Authorities said members of the “Comando Gang” and “Bahala na Gang” were involved in the fight. 

Six Commando members were injured, three of them were brought to the hospital for further medical assistance.

Meanwhile, two members of the Bahala na Gang were also hurt during the incident, authorities said.

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said visitations in the facility will be suspended as the investigation is ongoing. 

The agency will also hold inspections on jail cells to search for possible  contrabands.
