Wife of PDL caught with shabu in underwear

TACLOBAN CITY – The wife of a Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) was arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle suspected shabu for her husband at the Leyte Sub-Provincial Jail, Barangay Guiwan 1, Palompon, Leyte, recently. 

The suspect was identified as Amy Ruiz, 50, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Palompon.

She yielded two sachets containing shabu inserted in the sanitary napkin in her underwear.

Ruiz visited her husband Orland  who was imprisoned after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation.

Police said that a prison guard conducted a body search on the suspect. 

The prison guard was surprised when she noticed that the suspect was wearing a sanitary pad when she already looked old.

She asked the suspect to remove her sanitary pad which was opened and  discovered two sachets of shabu  placed inside two small sheets of paper wrapped in masking tape.

Amy was arrested and taken to the Palompon Municipal Police Starion for documentation and filing of charges.
