Parañaque's task force on infectious diseases tackle pertussis spread

Parañaque City's task force on emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases tackled plans to prevent the outbreak of pertussis (whooping cough) and diphtheria among infants and seniors in the city during a meeting on Thursday, April 11.
The meeting, led by City Administrator Atty. Voltaire dela Cruz and City Health Office (CHO) head Dr. Olga Virtusio, discussed the plans of the city government to prevent the spread of pertussis and diphtheria.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez advised residents to seek immediate consultation at the health center once they experience the symptoms caused by pertussis and diphtheria diseases like paroxysmal cough and difficulty in breathing.
The mayor also advised residents to get vaccinated against pertussis and diphtheria.
