Philippine Airlines (PAL) is urging the public to be aware and cautious of scams falsely using the airline's namesake in relation to alleged local cargo shipments.
In an advisory released by the airline on April 12, it warned that some scammers have reportedly been sending messages through Facebook or Messenger that are demanding payments for supposed shipments carried on a PAL flight.
It added that fake versions of PAL's cargo airways logo has been use as "proof" of the shipments.
"These are totally bogus. No such cargo shipments exist, and any related online payments will surely go to fraudsters," said PAL.
"Please deal only with our legitimate cargo agents and shippers for any air cargo transactions," it added.
For any announcements on cargo shipments, PAL said they will be issued only through official sources such as Cargo Sales Bulletins emailed to their accredited or non accredited agents and shippers; and the official emails from their Account Executives.
