Minor killed, 8 companions hurt in Negros crash

BACOLOD CITY – A 12-year-old girl was killed and eight members of her family were injured after the truck they were riding in fell on its side in Barangay Isio, Cauayan, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, April 9.

Police Lt. Col. Gary Alan Resuma, Cauayan police chief, said the victims were on their way home after attending a relative’s birth anniversary in Ilog, Negros Occidental when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while approaching a curve part of the road around 8 p.m.

Resuma said that all of them, except the minor, were reportedly under the influence of liquor. 

The minor was declared dead in a hospital and her eight companions suffered minor injuries.
