A magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental at 2:26 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs located the tremor 393 kilometers (km) southeast of Balut Island in the Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
It said the tremor, which occurred at 74 km, was tectonic or caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
Phivolcs said no damage to properties nor aftershocks is to be expected.
