Leading broadcast media company GMA Network continues its anti-piracy drive with a new video and a radio plug in Ilocano. The latest Kapuso personality to join the Network’s “Stream Responsibly. Fight Piracy” campaign is no less than award-winning broadcast journalist Jessica Soho.

In the latest video and radio plug, the host of the multi-platform leader and multi-awarded program “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” addresses audiences in Ilocano about the crucial role they play in the fight against piracy. She emphasizes the importance of choosing to stream programs only through legitimate platforms, making our viewers feel valued and integral to the campaign's success.

The anti-piracy video with Jessica premiered on April 8 during the One North Central Luzon program broadcast on GMA Regional TV and was also seen on GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV. The plug aired on GMA Network radio stations throughout Baguio, Dagupan, and Tuguegarao.

Speaking on behalf of the GMA Anti-Piracy committee, the Network’s First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T. Francia says, “To protect content-generating outlets such as GMA Network and the creative industry, we must emphasize to our  viewers in the Philippines and our Ilocano-speaking communities around the world that there are legitimate platforms through which they can enjoy watching their favorite programs. Jessica is a proud Ilocana and we are pleased that she is lending her voice in our advocacy for the benefit of her many followers here and abroad.”

GMA Network continues to raise awareness about digital piracy not just by mobilizing its roster of Kapuso talents and personalities but also by spreading the drive across the country with videos and radio plugs delivered in different Philippine languages.

“GMA Network’s responsibility goes beyond providing accurate news and timely information,” says Oliver B. Amoroso, GMA Network Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy. “We also take the lead in encouraging our Kapuso audiences to support the creative industry by providing them with information about the risks of digital piracy through our Kapuso personalities addressing them in various Philippine languages.”

While advances in streaming platforms have made entertainment and information more accessible across various devices anytime and anywhere, getting them from technologies such as radio remains popular. This is why GMA Network’s anti-piracy campaign also includes radio plugs.

“Despite the digital age, radio still has a significant audience, and they need to be informed about online piracy as well. They need to know that there are legitimate online platforms through which entertainment can be accessed and enjoyed,” shares GMA First Vice President for Radio Operations Group Glenn F. Allona.
