ILOILO CITY – Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go, with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the National Housing Authority (NHA), has provided assistance to displaced workers from two towns of Iloilo province.
Go led the emergency employment program for 570 beneficiaries displaced by typhoon “Egay” from Pototan and Leganes on Thursday, April 11.

There were 500 beneficiaries from Pototan in the 10-day work program under the DOLE’s flagship Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
On the other hand, there were 70 beneficiaries from Leganes in the NHA’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP).
Go said the partnership with DOLE, NHA, and the local government units (LGUs) of Pototan and Leganes is one way to help typhoon survivors rebuild their lives and their homes.
While in Pototan, Go visited the site of for the Super Health Center in Barangay Palanguia being constructed by the Department of Health (DOH).
Go, the main proponent of the law that enabled Super Health Centers to become part of DOH’s programs, said there are 27 such facilities in Iloilo.
He was accompanied by Pototan Mayor Rafael Enrique “Adi” Lazaro, Vice Mayor Thomas Peñaflorida, and actor Philip Salvador.
