This dishwashing tablet shares the same goal as refill hubs
EcoWise offers a solution to help combat plastic pollution

Simple but effective: refill hubs help curb plastic use by requiring consumers to bring their own containers for refilling cleaning products, which are often packaged in single-use sachets and bottles.
When washing the dishes daily, one may overlook the amount of plastic packaging discarded from dishwashing liquid. EcoWise, a sustainability-focused company, shares the same goal as refill hubs in helping reduce plastic waste by offering tablets that, when dissolved in water, become a sustainable cleaning solution.
"The idea is that instead of buying another bottle or sachet, you'll just use the tablet, which will help reduce unnecessary plastics," said Dan Oliver Cruz, owner of EcoWise, who has been developing the eco-friendly tablets for a year.

Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, EcoWise uses compostable packaging made from cornstarch, which only takes months to decompose. The tablets also feature non-toxic materials and a biodegradable formula that is said to cut effectively through grease.
“EcoWise products aren't just a simple do-it-yourself project. I know the importance of seeking experts' help, so all of my products are supervised and improved by a licensed chemist,” he said.
Cruz's TikTok video introducing his sustainable dishwashing tablets garnered some 500,000 views on the platform within two days. He had already begun selling the products, which earned positive reviews, but paused to address challenges in production.

Refill hubs and sustainable tablets help prove the big impact of choices as small as choosing your dishwashing liquid. Achieving a healthier planet, in turn, requires you as a consumer to make more mindful choices. Remember: we only have one planet to care for, and it’s time to take action yesterday.
