Sugarcane field yields tricycle driver's body

BACOLOD CITY – A tricycle driver was found dead in a sugarcane field in Barangay Bagroy, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, April 10.

Police withheld the name of the 39-year-old victim, a resident of Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Police Major Randy Babor, Binalbagan police chief, said that a biker who passed by the area discovered the victim’s body when his cellphone’s alarm rang.

The victim sustained multiple stab wounds.

Babor said the victim was last seen alive with some individuals during a drinking session in Isabela.

He said they are looking into grudges as a possible motive and robbery because the victim’s wallet and tricycle were missing.

He said they already have a lead in their investigation.
