Sen. Imee's Nutri-Jeep, MPD distribute hot meals to Muslims in Quiapo on Eid'l Fitr

Senator Imee Marcos' Nutri-Jeep and members of the Manila Police District (MPD) distributed hot meals to Muslims at the Manila Golden Mosque in Quiapo, Manila on Eid’l Fitr or the end of Ramadan.
Sen. Imee's Nutri-Jeep was parked along the Quezon Boulevard-Service Road to distribute rice porridge, canned goods, and nutri-buns.
Elements of the Manila Police District (MPD) also distributed rice porridge with eggs, bottled water and buns outside the mosque.
Around 200 Muslims benefitted from the food distribution, MPD Barbosa Station Commander Lt. Col. Romeo Estabillo said.
"Since mag start ang Ramadan ay may pa outreach program po tayo on a daily basis with coordination from Bgy. 384 of Chairwoman Umaya Sharief (We began the outreach program on a daily basis since the start of Ramadan, with coordination from Bgy. 384 of Chairwoman Umaya Sharief)," he added.
According to the MPD, around 2,000 Muslims were seen flocking to Globo de Oro Street on Wednesday morning, April 10.
Filipino-Muslim vendors took advantage of the crowd to sell halal foods such as rendang and pastil.
MPD Director Chief Arnold Thomas Ibay advised Muslims to bring umbrellas, towels, and bottled water amid the prevailing warm temperature.
Meanwhile, authorities said around 1,500 Muslims gathered at the Quirino Grandstand in Ermita, Manila to pray and celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the month-long fasting during the Islamic holy month.
Members of the MPD were deployed to the area to conduct an intensified anti-criminality operation.
