PAGASA sees slim chance of cyclone formation until weekend
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday, April 10 said there is still a low probability of tropical cyclone formation until the end of the week.
In the PAGASA’s Wednesday morning forecast, weather specialist Obet Badrina said the easterlies will still be the dominant weather system in the country, which may bring hot and humid weather to most areas.
Except for Batanes, the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the next 24 hours.
However, PAGASA advised the public to exercise caution during severe thunderstorms, which could trigger flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, Badrina said a frontal system—a weather system in which warm and cold air merge—may bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms to Batanes.
The province may experience flash floods or landslides due to occasional moderate to heavy rainfall from the frontal system, PAGASA warned.
