CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur – Fifteen candidates are competing in the 2024 Miss Tobacco Philippines beauty pageant at the Candon City Arena here on Thursday, April 11.

Candidates represent tobacco-producing provinces all over the country, specifically the provinces of Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Cagayan, and Isabela.
Mayor Eric D. Singson here launched the beauty pageant in collaboration with the National Tobacco Administration (NTA) to promote the heritage culture of tobacco and its significant contributions to the country’s economy.
The search for Miss Tobacco Philippines 2024 at the Candon City Tobacco Festival holds significant cultural and economic importance, said Singson.
“It celebrates the rich heritage of tobacco cultivation in the Philippines, highlighting its cultural significance and the role it plays in the local economy. Additionally, the pageant promotes tourism and showcases the beauty and talent of Filipino women.”
The beauty pageant now on its second year is one of the highlights of the tobacco festival.
