11 areas recorded ‘dangerous’ heat index levels on April 10

The heat index reached “dangerous” level in 11 locations on Wednesday, April 10, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA said a heat index ranging from 42 degrees Celsius (°C) to 51°C indicates imminent "danger," as "heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely," and "heat stroke is probable with continued activity."
On Wednesday, Dagupan City, Pangasinan recorded a heat index of 44℃, followed by Bacnotan, La Union; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; and Aborlan, Palawan, with a heat index of 43℃.
Meanwhile, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Masbate City, Masbate; Roxas City, Capiz; Dumangas, Iloilo; Catarman, Northern Samar; Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur; and Cotabato City, Maguindanao have a heat index of 42℃.
PAGASA defines the heat index as the measurement of how hot it feels when relative humidity is combined with the actual air temperature.
It recorded the country’s highest heat index so far this year on March 27 in Roxas City, Capiz at 48°C.
